Write penguins, slowly.
A patient home for penguin stories.
It began with a Facebook group called 企鵝愛好者, the Penguin Enthusiasts FB group, and it has kept growing since 2019.
About this site
I started a Facebook group called 企鵝愛好者 (Penguin Enthusiasts) in 2019. The plan was simple: a place for people who like penguins to share things.
It grew past ten thousand. Now there are penguin photos every day. People post merch, science papers, drawings, sketches from the zoo. Artists, creators, researchers. All in one room.
Group posts get buried by the feed. Penguin stories deserve a home the algorithm cannot wash away.
Over the years I noticed the same questions kept coming back. Do emperor penguins really stand outside all winter? Which species are the ones at Xpark? How bad is shrinking sea ice for them?
I wanted to write the answers down somewhere they would not scroll past. This site does not chase trends. It tries to tell you how penguins stand, how they eat, how they court each other, how they hand an egg from one foot to the other.
The Facebook group still posts every day. That is the live feed. This site is the quiet shelf where things get put back in order.
There is also Nekopen
Nekopen is a second FB group, built around the soft, comforting Nekopen world that became beloved in Japan. It is a quieter corner full of cats, little penguins, and the kind of posts that melt your screen.
